Joe Goddard has announced his third solo album.

'Harmonics' will arrive through Domino on July 12 and features the new single Moments Die, an electro-pop collaboration with Brooklyn singer-songwriter Barrie contributing vocals. The LP's opening track arrives with a video directed by Nathan Castiel. Goddard said in a statement:

"My new single Moments Die features a beautiful vocal contribution from my friend Barrie which for me is a highlight of my forthcoming album. My words were inspired by John Berger’s book And Our Faces, My Heart, Brief as Photos."

Other collaborators on the LP include the producer and songwriter's Hot Chip bandmates Alexis Taylor and Al Doyle, Tom McFarland of Jungle, Ibibio Sound Machine's Eno Williams, British jazz musician Alabaster DePlume and UK rapper Oranje, Wild Beasts frontman Hayden Thorpe, Guinean vocalist Falle Nioke and Bronx-raised singer Fiorious, who featured on the previously shared single New World (Flow). Goddard continued:

"With all the different people on this record, I’ve been working on how to respect the contribution they make and not trying to be the one who has to lead everything. That follows through into the songs where I'm singing. I tried to write words without having too much of an idea of what I’m trying to express, where I'm just writing a stream of consciousness.

"Part of the reason why I wanted to call this 'Harmonics' is that I was trying to create something very inclusive and empathetic, something harmonious. There’s a lot of aggressive division in the world, and I wanted this to be loving, romantic – and fun."

Goddard has a number of DJ sets in the diary, including gigs at Headrow House in Leeds on April 20, Stowaway Festival in Buckingham on August 17, and Dreamland Margate on September 21 supporting Sister Sledge.
