BBC Introducing is a subsection of the BBC that helps unsigned musicians get coverage and experience in the industry.
In the past, they've helped the likes of now-mega stars Jake Bugg, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Florence and the Machine, Declan McKenna, Two Door Cinema Club, The 1975, and helped loads more including The Temper Trap, Chipmunk, Marina and the Diamonds, Molly Smitten-Downes, Fatherson, Stornoway, Rizzle Kicks, Bombay Bicycle Club, Cage the Elephant, Catfish And The Bottlemen, Charlotte OC, Chew Lips, Clean Cut Kid, Clock Opera, Curbi, Django Django, Everything Everything, Declan McKenna.
Every so often, the team put together a show at the Lexington to present new talent. In September 2017, the event featured Get Inuit, Stereo Honey and Gaffa Tape Sandy. In February 2018, the team presented Willie J Healey, whenyoung, and Lady Bird, and later in the year saw performances from Easy Life, Moncrieff and The Howl & The Hum, Rhys Lewis, Ferris & Sylvester and Sad Boys Club.
The next BBC Introducing show will feature Adam French, Jack Vallier and Lauran Hibberd in October. Then, BBC Introducing will be live at London's Tobacco Dock in November for three days of events, including performances from The Sherlocks.
