On This Day In Music: The Death Of John Lennon

On December 8, 1980, John Lennon was shot dead by Mark Chapman as he entered the Dakota, his New York apartment building. As a member of the Beatles, in tandem with his songwriting partner Paul McCartney, Lennon changed the face of popular music. He had released ‘Double Fantasy’ a matter of weeks before his death.
