Before she got into the whole being successful racket, Paloma Faith used to get sawed in half every night as a magician’s assistant. Ouch. Three years have passed since Californian rockers The Red Hot Chili Peppers released their last studio album, the 2006, Rick Rubin produced, two-disc “Stadium Arcadium”. It has been announced that after a two-year hiatus the band are now hoping to be back in the second half of 2010 with what will be their tenth studio album.

Launching a UK tour to celebrate the 250,000th sale of their second album ‘Wild Young Hearts’, Noisettes are part punk, a bit rock’n’roll, somewhat jazz and a several other genres and decades thrown in for good measure. Fronted by Shingai Shoniwa who, and I mean this in a completely non-Sid James way, has an impressive set of lungs on her, Noisettes also features Dan Smith on Guitar and Jamie Morrison who bangs things. Sir Paul McCartney is coming to London this Christmas and demand for tickets has been absolutely mammoth after his Las Vegas gig sold out in only seven seconds.

The former Beatle will end a seven-date sold out European tour, his first in five years, with a concert at the O2 Arena in London on December 22nd 2009.

Wolfmother entertained an expectant pack of music fans last week, hungry for rock and salivating for roll. Up for the first course were Band Of Skulls. And the Southampton trio, served up five Michelin Stars. Their sound was brash, overwhelming and bounced off the walls of the London Coronet, wrapping the audience in a bubbling cocoon of sound. If none of the audience knew them before, they most definitely made sure they did after. The musical coupling of the Kills-esque male/female singer provided an excellent balance of vocals, bathed in both thumping basslines and crashing riffs. After half an hour of pure sex and Americana, the pulsing audience were well and truly warmed up.
