'House' Actor Hugh Laurie To Record Blues Album

Award-winning actor Hugh Laurie, the star of American hospital drama ‘House’, is set to head into the studio to record his own album of New Orleans blues.

Trying his hand at music, Laurie will be clocking-up studio time with producer Joe Henry who has been acclaimed for his work with big names such as Elvis Costello. Speaking to the press about his new venture, Hugh Laurie spoke of his excitement for the new album.

"I am drunk with excitement at this opportunity. I know the history of actors making music is a checkered one, but I promise no one will get hurt. I am particularly thrilled to be working with Joe Henry, who has produced some of my favourite records of all time, and I can't wait to get started."

We have seen it time and time again, the move from actor to rockstar has always been a temptation to the stars of the screen. Keanu Reeves with his band Dogstar, Steven Seagal with his band Thunderbox and now Tim Robbins looks set to focus more on his ‘Tim Robbins & the Rogues Gallery Band’ too.

Even though Hugh Laurie has won two Golden Globe Awards for his contribution as the tetchy doctor in hospital drama ‘House’, the actor is not too sure about receiving similar praise for his singing. Signing with Warner Music Entertainment, Laurie heads into the studio within the next few months.
