US Punks Bad Religion to Release Fifteenth Studio Album in September

Renowned LA punk-rock band Bad Religion are to release their new album on 27th September this year.

The album, which is to be named 'The Dissent of Man', is the 15th studio album from the band and follows 2007's 'New Maps of Hell'. It is produced by Joe Barresi, who has previously worked with Queens of the Stone Age and Tool. The announcement comes ahead of this month's European tour dates, which will culminate with headlining slots on the Lock Up Stage at the Reading and Leeds festivals.

Talking about 'The Dissent of Man', guitarist and co-founding member Brett Gurewitz said: "These are some of my favourite songs I've ever written. A few of them took me way outside my comfort zone as a writer to a place I haven't gone since 'Recipe [for Hate]' or 'Stranger than Fiction'."

Gurewitz (aka Mr Brett), who is also the owner of Epitaph Records, added: "I feel like the last couple of records have been amongst our most conservative, never straying too far from a Bad Religion sound. Whereas on this one, we're taking the songs to a lot of different places, exploring our influences and trying out some new things in a way we haven't done in years."

This year also marks the 30th anniversary of Bad Religion, who recently celebrated the occasion by giving away a new live album entitled '30 Years Live' to members of the band's mailing list for free.

The first single to be taken from 'The Dissent of Man' will be 'The Devil in Stitches', which can be heard on the band's MySpace page at www.myspace.com/badreligion.

The album's track listing is as follows:

1. The Day That the Earth Stalled
2. Only Rain
3. The Resist Stance
4. Won't Somebody
5. The Devil in Stitches
6. Pride and the Pallor
7. Wrong Way Kids
8. Meeting of the Minds
9. Someone to Believe
10. Avalon
11. Cyanide
12. Turn Your Back On Me
13. Ad Hominem
