Soundgarden To Release Compilation Album With Latest 'Guitar Hero' Edition

Recently reunited Seattle group Soundgarden are to release a compilation next month, with the album containing tracks from every album and EP through their career to date.

Entitled ‘Telephantasm’, the album will be the band’s first CD in 13 years and will feature an unreleased song called ‘Black Rain’. Recorded during the band’s Badmotorfinger era, the resurfaced track will be part of a bundle of extras included on the album, which also features a DVD of previously unseen band footage.

Additional to the special extras, ‘Telephantasm’ is to be released alongside new video game ‘Guitar Hero 6: Warriors of Rock’. With revived track ‘Black Rain’ featuring as one of the 90 tracks on the new game, fans can buy a copy of GH6: Warriors of Rock and get the album for free!

Expecting that the joint release with Guitar Hero 6 will help reintroduce the band’s sound to a new generation of fans, lead singer Chris Cornell had this to say. “Guitar Hero has actually turned on a lot of young music fans to music that they otherwise might not have ever heard.”

Guitar Hero 6: Warriors of Rock as well as Soundgarden’s ‘Telephantasm’ is set for release on a number of various formats on September 28th.
