Melissa Auf Der Maur, Canadian rock musician and former bassist for Courtney Love's band Hole, has announced a string of solo shows for the UK in November.

Melissa Auf Der Maur started out playing the small Montreal bars of her neighbourhood. Little did she know then that she would join up with Courtney Love and play bass with Hole to an audience of 60,000 people at her first show!

After five years with the band Melissa departed Hole in 1999 following their 'Celebrity Skin' tour and joined Smashing Pumpkins to play bass on the band's 2000 tour alongside guitarist and vocalist Billy Corgan. Starting up a solo career, the bassist has to date released two solo albums 'Auf Der Maur' in 2004 and her 2010 follow-up 'Out Of Minds'.

Melissa Auf Der Maur has announced a five-date tour of the UK in November when she will no doubt showcase new material from her latest album released last March.
