The Joy Formidable, currently headlining the NME Radar Tour across the UK in the company of Chapel Club, Wilder and Flats, have released the video for their forthcoming single 'I Don't Want To See You Like This'.
The video was shot in the Gower Peninsula of Wales during the worst rains the area had seen in over a decade, “It’s rugged terrain to begin with and in normal conditions it would a difficult shoot,” says the band’s guitarist and singer Ritzy Bryan, “but add the torrential rain and electrical storms, let’s just say we were tested in every possible way. But I’m so happy we did it there, it’s where the song was written.” The band were at the Gower Peninsula to do some recording some months prior to making the video, “I had been there when I was a child with my parents,” Ritzy continues, “and returning there evoked a flood of memories and inspired me to write the song.”
Fans can pre-order a limited picture disc 7” of the single via the band's official website www.thejoyformidable.com with a full release for the track from October 11th.
As with the band’s forthcoming debut album 'The Big Roar', the single was recorded and produced by the band and mixed by Rich Costey at his studio in Los Angeles. The single marks the band’s first release for new label Canvasback following their signing of a worldwide deal in August of this year.
