Lime Garden Tease 'Maybe Not Tonight' With New Single Downtown Lover

Lime Garden have shared another track from their upcoming second album.
Blending their knack for catchy indie hooks with their signature "wonk-pop" sound, Downtown Lover serves as the fourth preview of 'Maybe Not Tonight', due out on April 10 via So Young Records. Introducing the track, vocalist-guitarist Chloe Howard explained:
"Downtown Lover came from three chords and my need to investigate my regular avoidant behaviour within romantic relationships. I saw the phrase “downtown love” in an article online talking about some peoples constant need for something new or attention in general when dating, through recognising this in my myself and In an attempt to try and understand why I act the way I do, I threw this one out in a matter of minutes on my acoustic guitar."
The Brighton four-piece previously teased the album with the earlier singles All Bad Parts, 23 and the title track. Introducing it at the start of the year, Howard said: "The album is about a night out, from start to finish. As the night progresses, you’re having a great time, until your ex walks in with someone else. You hate the way you look but rather than going home, you press the big red button and get even more drunk. Eventually, you take yourself home full of melancholy, chaos and anger."
Lime Garden will accompany the album's release with a series of in-store dates, followed by appearances at Get Together Festival in Sheffield in May and Latitude festival in Suffolk in July. They'll also tour the UK and Europe in September and October, followed by US dates later in the autumn. Tickets are on sale now.
