Skintight Jaguars Win The Relentless Energy Drink Competition In Conjunction With Myspace

Skintight Jaguars, a three-piece punk rock outfit from North London, have today been announced as winners of the Relentless Energy Drink band search, in conjunction with MySpace.

Skintight Jaguars are confirmed to open the Relentless Energy Drink Sessions Festival on Saturday 23rd October 2010, supporting rock super group headliners The Damned Things made up from members of Anthrax, Fall Out Boy and Every Time I Die.

The competition, which launched on MySpace in August, aimed to find an act which demonstrates their drive and passion like no other – a core value in the world of Relentless Energy Drink. Bands uploaded tracks to Myspace and undertook a rigorous voting system, with the winner chosen by legendary punk outfit Gallows and drum n bass duo Chase and Status.

The triumphant trio, Skintight Jaguars, are described as rock and roll mixed up with punk, set to deliver a forceful opening performance as they take to the main stage at the festival finale, supporting American heavy metal supergroup, The Damned Things, Viking Skull and Japanese Voyeurs. Also performing on the Saturday night are LowerThan Atlantis, Spycatcher and Feed The Rhino.

Having been together for just over three years now, this new band has taken huge strides in their short musical journey. 2008 saw Skintight Jaguars tour with Swedish Grammy winners, rock punk band Backyard Babies, followed by a tour in LA last year, they hope to venture to Germany soon. Early predictions are that 2011 will become even bigger and better for Skintight Jaguars and see the band flourish even further.

Front man Ryan Simmonds, guitarist and vocalist from the band could not hide his delight in being picked as the winner of this competition. “We’re extremely excited to be playing at The Relentless Energy Drink Sessions Festival, especially opening for The Damned Things as Scott Ian from Anthrax has been a huge inspiration and influence upon my guitar playing style.”

Relentless spokesperson, Sam Grant says “Skintight Jaguars fit perfectly with what Relentless Energy Drink is all about and we’re looking forward to seeing them play next weekend!”

The Relentless Energy Sessions Festival will take place over 3 nights from the 21st – 23rd October 2010 presenting 3 rooms of art installations, cutting edge visuals, and the very best in live music, with performances over the three days from Band of Skulls, The Sounds, The Boxer Rebellion, Does It Offend You Yeah?, S.C.U.M, The Shoes, plus more.
