Katy Perry 1st Female Artist In 11 Years To Score Three Number 1 Singles From The Same Album

Global pop superstar Katy Perry continues her record-breaking streak by becoming the first female artist in 11 years to score three No. 1 singles from the same album on Billboard’s Hot 100. 'Firework,' the third single from her Grammy-nominated No. 1 album 'Teenage Dream', claims the top spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 and Digital Songs chart this week, following on the heels of Katy’s two previous No. 1 singles 'California Gurls' and 'Teenage Dream.' Katy also hit No. 1 with 'I Kissed A Girl,' which held the top spot for seven weeks in the summer of 2008.

On December 2nd, it was announced that Katy had been nominated for four 2011 Grammy Awards: “Album of the Year” and “Best Pop Vocal Album” for 'Teenage Dream', “Best Female Pop Vocal Performance” for the single 'Teenage Dream,' and “Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals” for 'California Gurls.' She was nominated in 2009 for “Best Female Pop Vocal Performance” for 'I Kissed A Girl' and in 2010 for 'Hot N Cold' from her 2008 debut album 'One of the Boys'. Katy has won a BRIT Award, two MTV Europe Music Awards, an NRJ Music Award, a People’s Choice Award, and two Teen Choice Awards, among other international honours.

Katy recently performed during ABC’s telecast of The American Music Awards (she was nominated for three, including “Artist of the Year”) and CBS’sThe Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. She will also perform on the CBS special A Home For The Holidays, which airs at 10 PM, ET/PT on December 22nd. Over the past year, Katy has graced the cover of Rolling Stone, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Nylon, Seventeen, and Lucky. She appeared on the November cover of Harper’s Bazaar and will be on Maxim’s January cover, which hits stands today.

Katy's California Dreams 2011 World Tour kicks off in Europe in February before hitting Australia and Japan in May, followed by North America in the summer. The tour has also been extended for 12 arena dates in the UK/Ireland in October/November.
