Justin Bieber Cleared Of Assault Charges

Teen sensation Justin Bieber can breathe a sigh of relief this week as it has been revealed that he will not be charged for assault. The Canadian singer was involved in an unfortunate incident this October in British Colombia, where he is said to have punched a 12-year-old boy in the face.

Despite a torrent of media attention, police in Richmond, British Colombia have decided not to pursue the case further and file charges against Bieber. Speaking out on the incident, Corporal Turley from the Richmond mounted police said: "The file in regard to the alleged assault at the entertainment centre has been concluded, and no charges will be forwarded, the investigation is complete." Turley stated that she was unable to confirm Bieber’s role in the incident directly because of a law prohibiting the dissemination of information regarding youths in criminal cases.

According to early reports, however, Bieber is said to have entered into a scuffle with an unidentified lazer-tag player on October 15th this year at the Planet Lazer Entertainment Center in Richmond. Beiber supposedly struck out in reaction to a series of homophobic slurs which were aimed at the young pop star. The boy is said to have suffered minimal injuries but still decided to attempt to press charges against Bieber.

It has been a difficult situation for Bieber’s management, particularly after the young star decided to appear in an American anti-bullying campaign earlier this year. In the advert Bieber said: "I just wanted to say there's nothing cool about being a bully. And if you're getting bullied, make sure to tell someone and, you know, it gets better. And if you're a bystander, make sure to step in and, you know, help out."
