Roger Waters To Release 'The Wall' DVD

Not only is Roger Waters taking ‘The Wall’ on tour in 2011, it seems he may also be bringing it into our living rooms with a live DVD release looking likely.

There has been no official confirmation of a DVD release for the tour but a notice on www.roger-waters.com does state that all 6 of his shows at London’s O2 Arena will be filmed. The statement asks that fans refrain from using flash photography as ‘flash wipes out the images projected on ‘The Wall’ which are the most important part of the show’. The notice also confirms any fans who do use flash will be ejected from the building.

The former Pink Floyd bassist’s tour was one of the hottest tickets around when the dates (which also include stops in Manchester and Dublin) went on sale with interest levels rising even higher when it was confirmed that David Gilmour would join Waters on stage at a selected show. The pair will re-unite and perform ‘Comfortably Numb’ together, guaranteeing the lucky fans at that gig an unforgettable ‘I was there’ moment.

The tour, arranged to coincide with the 30th Anniversary of Pink Floyd’s classic album of the same name promises to give one of the most spectacular stage sets ever seen with a 240 foot projection onto ‘The Wall’ built for the audience. The original tour was famous for its complex stage set and Waters will pull out all the stops again with this one. Along with the wall itself the set will also include the famous crashing aeroplane and inflatable puppets.

Roger Waters suggests The Wall Live will be his last live tour ever. Waters performs live in 2011 at the following UK venues:

12th May 2011 - O2 Arena, London
14th May 2011 - O2 Arena, London
15th May 2011 - O2 Arena, London
17th May 2011 - O2 Arena, London
18th May 2011 - O2 Arena, London

23rd May 2011 - O2 Dublin, Dublin
24th May 2011 - O2 Dublin, Dublin
27th June 2011 - Birmingham National Indoor Arena, Birmingham
28th June 2011 - MEN Arena Manchester, Manchester
