Jimmy Eat World and The Format are set to co-headline a show in Los Angeles this fall.
The two Arizona bands will take the stage at the Hollywood Bowl on November 7 to celebration the anniversaries of two landmark albums from their respective discographies. Jimmy Eat World (pictured) will continue their 25th annivesary celebrations for ’Bleed American’ with a full album performance, while The Format will mark 20 years of ’Dog Problems’ by playing the record in full.
The show will be the first time the two bands have shared the iconic stage and is one of only two full album performances from The Format this year, the other being at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on October 9.
Jimmy Eat World are currently touring ’Bleed American’ as part of the milestone celebrations and will play UK shows in Halifax, Cardiff and London next month, as well as North American dates throughout the rest of the summer and into fall, including a date at Phoenix’s Chase Field supporting My Chemical Romance in September. They’ll also take the album to Australia in December.
They released their latest studio album, ’Surviving’, in 2019 and more recently put out the ’Something(s) Loud’ vinyl EP last November.
After nearly two decades apart, The Format returned last year for live shows and released their comeback album, ’Boycott Heaven’, in January. They’ll continue with shows this summer and fall, with special guests The Get Up Kids.
Tickets for the new Los Angeles show go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday (July 31). All other dates are on sale now.
