Jimmy Eat World have announced summer and fall North American shows to celebrate 25 years since the release of their landmark album 'Bleed American'.
The Arizona band will begin the trek on June 9 in Denver, Colorado with a performance at the famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre, with dates running through to mid-November.
Other stops include Chicago, Detroit, Brooklyn, New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Calgary, Seattle, Vancouver, Toronto, Austin, Dallas, Nashville, Tampa, and all five cities on the Vans Warped Tour, returning after a 25-year absence. They'll also play Phoenix's Chase Field supporting My Chemical Romance on September 6. Lead vocalist-guitarist Jim Adkins said:
"I feel like at this time in our lives, especially for me, it’s important to get back to a place that you can savor. This tour is designed to be an elevated version of our show, a heightened experience with production that reflects 25 years of learning how to stretch artistically in the live environment."
The four-piece will be joined by special guests on select dates, including Rise Against, Hot Mulligan, Sunny Day Real Estate, Thrice, Motion City Soundtrack, Mom Jeans, Minus the Bear, The Get Up Kids, Sparta, Hey Mercedes, Girls Against Boys, Illuminati Hotties, and Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers.
The tour also features previously scheduled UK shows in Halifax on August 14 for the Live At The Piece Hall series, Cardiff Castle for the Depot Live series on August 15 and London, where they'll play their biggest UK show to date at Gunnersbury Park on August 16.
Rise Against and The Get Up Kids will also support at all three UK shows, with Jay Som also appearing in Cardiff and London.
The shows will see Jimmy Eat World performing 'Bleed American', originally released in 2001, in full, alongside rarities and hits.
"When we printed the last mix of Bleed American, we felt like we had achieved something great for ourselves," Adkins explained. "There was no barometer of how it would connect with people outside of the studio, and we are still in awe with the life the record and songs have had since their original release. Bleed American is as much yours as it is ours, so we want to celebrate it with you all in a very special way."
Tickets for the new North American dates go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday (February 13), except for the Vans Warped Tour shows in Washington D.C., Long Beach, Montreal, Mexico City and Orlando, which are on sale now. Their UK shows are also already on sale.
