X Factor's Wagner Lands Festival Slot

X Factor star Wagner Carrilho has earned himself a spot as special guest at a British festival this summer.
The eccentric singer will be performing on the second stage at Derbyshire’s Bearded Theory Festival this May. He will be occupying the ‘family friendly’ slot at the festival, which was last year taken up by Romanian double act The Cheeky Girls.
The Brazilian was a surprise hit on the televised singing series, coming seventh in this year’s competition. Not only will he be performing a live set, but the singer will also be hosting the festival’s annual world record attempt for the most people wearing false beards at one time.
Wagner showed his excitement for the festival as he said: "I can't wait to perform at my first ever music festival, Bearded Theory. Being the only pop act on the bill, I know expectations are high, but I will do the festival proud. I look forward to seeing all my fans there!"
Promoter Rich Bryan was quick to defend the booking, adding: "Bearded Theory Festival is all about having fun. We took a massive gamble on booking The Cheeky Girls last year and it was a rip-roaring success. This year we can't wait for Wagner to be the talking point at the festival."
Bearded Theory Festival will take place on May 13th-15th at Kedleston Hall. Other acts confirmed to play include The Waterboys, The Whip and Alabama 3.
