Legendary house DJ David Guetta has sent a message to label executives and artists world wide – stop fighting internet piracy.
Guetta feels that endeavouring record companies and their acts should give away free content and songs, instead of trying to stop piracy – as they’ll never win. He also thinks using social network sites like twitter and facebook is the best way to advertise new bands.
Speaking from Cannes, South France, the Guetta revealed “I have never been very nervous about online pir¬acy, sometimes you have to give away content, even if it isn’t bringing you money. It doesn’t have to be music; it can be videos, images and so on.”
The star producer is also preparing for a springtime tour of the country. David Guetta will play the following UK shows this Spring:
27th April 2011, Braehead Arena, Glasgow
28th April 2011, O2 Academy Leeds, Leeds
29th April 2011, O2 Apollo Manchester, Manchester

2nd May 2011, Kings Hall Complex, Belfast
