London-born singer Adele yesterday resumed her domination in the UK music charts, earning Number One on both the albums and singles chart for the fourth consecutive week.
The singer’s hit single ‘Someone Like You’ held firm at the top of the chart, keeping Jessie J and RIhanna at bay once again. The only new competition that the Tottenham singer faced was an entry from Wiz Khalifa’s NFL-inspired ‘Black And Yellow’, which entered at the Number Five position.
Adele’s second studio album, ‘21’ held on to the Number One spot in the albums chart for the seventh week in a row. The LP faced competition from three new entries, including Elbow who earned their highest ever position as ‘Build A Rocket Boys!’ entered the chart at Number Two.
Other new entries in the top ten were REM, who earned the Number Five spot with ‘Collapse Into Now’ and Noah and the Whale, whose third release ‘Last Night On Earth’ reached Number eight.
