Megadeth Singer Dave Mustaine Collapses During Russian Gig

Megadeth singer and guitarist Dave Mustaine collapsed on Wednesday, after suffering pain from kidney stones backstage at a gig in St Petersburg.

The voted #1 metal guitarist was backstage prior to his band’s set at their gig, he began feeling pains similar ‘to a hernia’, and was advised to cancel the show. Mustaine then saw doctors, before passing out.

But in true metal-head fashion, the rocker decided to play a shortened show instead of cancelling the gig, playing for half an hour before leaving to receive treatment.

"Two hours before the show I started to feel like I had a hernia, or I'd been hit in the groin,” said Dave. “I told my tour manager I needed a doctor and it might be in my best interest to cancel the show.”

"I was told to pee for the doctors. They explained there was blood, and gave me an IV, an analgesic and an anti-inflammatory injection. The next hour is blurry. I woke up. They told me they could hold the show for 30 minutes, but I said, 'Guys, I am okay, and we can do this'."

But fear not Megadeth devotees – Dave has reassured fans that he is "95% better", and will not be cancelling any of the remaining shows, including the band’s appearance at Sonisphere which will see all of the ‘Big Four’ on stage in the UK for the first time.
