The Good Natured Back With Yet Another EP

The Good Natured, fresh from brilliant performances at SxSW and recently signed to Parlophone imprint Regal, have just released a hot-off-the-press new studio single entitled “Wolves”.

Available to download for free via SoundCloud, ‘Wolves’ is a fast-paced, intimate dance track where we find Sarah in the deep dark wood, “dancing ’round fires, lost in desire” and ready to surrender to the howling of the wolves. The clarity of the interplay between the instruments is a stark contrast to the cheerfully morbid metaphor for escapism - feral and sensual.

“In every society, we find people who are bored with their daily routines, getting up, going to work, and coming home again” said member McIntos.

“'Wolves' is about escapism, leaving the mundane normality of everyday life and entering a new world, whether it be a fantasy or a reality.”

The band have already been making a name for themselves with their previous EPs ; 'Be My Animal', 'Your Body Is A Machine' and their cover of Sufjan Stevens 'For The Widows In Paradise; For The Fatherless In Ypsilanti'. These have helped their popularity on music blogs so much that they were in the top 10 most searched acts on Hypemachine last December. The band have received support from Nick Grimshaw, Huw Stephens and Jo Whiley on Radio One, plus XFM and 6 Music.

Check Stereoboard for The Good Natured’s up and coming single ‘Skeleton’, which will include a music video. The single will appear on another EP, out June.

Previously, Berkshire three-piece The Good Natured have drawn comparisons to the likes of La Roux and Ladytron, thanks to their winning combination of infectious electro-pop with frontwoman Sarah McIntosh’s enchanting vocals. On this occasion however, for the title and lead track on their new EP ‘Skeleton’ – incidentally, their first release on a major label – The Good Natured have chosen what feels like a post-punk quality, more akin to the likes of indie-rockers Maximo Park. However, the haunting guitar intro and thundering drums soon give way to a rather more effervescent and catchy pop chorus, which bears similarity to a host of ‘80s dance tracks and hears McIntosh at her most melodic.
