Sunderland’s Frankie & The Heartstrings are set to release new single 'That Postcard' on 9th May, the day they hit the road for a short UK tour. Check out the new video below.
'That Postcard' is taken from F&TH’ Top 40 debut album 'Hunger' and features producer Edwyn Collins on backing vocals. The bands’ admiration for Collins and his former band Orange Juice is no secret and 'That Postcard' tips its hat to the great man with a fond reference to his Channel 4 sitcom of yore West Heath Yard while the b-side to this digital only single is a cover of Collins’ 'Searching For The Truth' from his recent album 'Home Again'.
The band’s new fanzine will be available for free on Record Store Day on 16th April in selected stores nationwide. See the full PopSex Ltd archive at www.popsexltd.com
Frankie & The Heartstrings play the UK and Europe throughout April and May including a homecoming gig in Sunderland on 22nd April, London’s Camden Crawl and Brighton’s Great Escape. Summer festival appearances kick-off with Beach Break Live in June followed by Hop Farm, Camp Bestival, and Bestival. More festival dates will be announced soon.
