Controversial Beady Eye frontman Liam Gallagher has taken a step away from his usual bad behaviour – to help raise money for charity.
Currently busy travelling the country as part of his new band Beady Eye’s debut tour, the singer managed to find time to attend an event in Newcastle in which he handed over a generous gift of £40,000 to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Gallagher managed to raise the money by selling a limited edition t-shirt, decorated with an illustration of his infamous tambourine, which he released through his own Pretty Green label.
Gallagher was touched by the charity event, and said afterwards “Those young people are so inspirational, I hope this makes a difference and helps raise awareness of teenage cancer.
“Pretty Green will continue to support the TCT”.
It isn’t the first time Liam has revealed his kind side this year, with his band Beady Eye this month covering classic Beatles track ‘Across the Universe’, with all proceeds going to the Japanese Tsunami Relief fund.
