Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows (D.R.U.G.S.) have been nominated for a Kerrang! Award for Best International Newcomer following the recent release of their self-titled debut album. The band will be competing for the title, which will be announced at the awards ceremony in London on June 9th, with Black Veil Brides, Hyro Da Hero, The Pretty Reckless and We Are The In Crowd.
The nomination follows the news that D.R.U.G.S. have joined the bill at this year’s Download Festival. The band, fronted by former Chiodos vocalist Craig Owens, will play the festival’s second stage on June 10th and will also play three headline dates.
Also consisting of Underminded guitarist Nick Martin, From First To Last guitarist Matt Good, Matchbook Romance drummer Aaron Stern and Story Of The Year bassist Adam Russell, D.R.U.G.S. recently completed a triumphant debut UK tour. Their next flying visit to these shores encompasses the following dates:

June 7th – Bristol, The Fleece
June 8th – London, The Barfly
June 10th – Download Festival

Recorded with producer, friend and mentor John Feldmann, the band’s self-titled debut is the most aggressive album Owens has made in his career, yet it still retains the keen sense of melody that has helped him become one of today’s most compelling frontmen. “It was so cathartic making this record because music is my form of therapy,” he emphasises. “I can’t wait to get out there and play these songs live because it’ll get all those feelings out”.
From the electro-tinged anthem ‘If You Think This Song Is About You, It Probably Is’ which alternates between melodic choruses and double-bass fuelled breakdowns to the metallically charged rockers like ‘The Only Thing You Talk About’, the album is teeming with creative sonic adventures that will undoubtedly satisfy Owens’ dedicated fanbase.NOTE FROM THE EDITOR
