The year’s most unlikely musical success story Rastamouse is scheduled to release his debut album this July, it has been revealed. The fictional children’s character is also planning to release a single next month to coincide with his welcomed performance at Glastonbury Festival.
The BBC mouse will release his reggae-packed debut LP 'Makin' A Bad Ting Good' on July 4th, with a single entitled 'Hot Hot Hot' also confirmed for release on June 26th
Those yet to witness the coolest mouse in music can watch the official video for Rastamouse’s debut single ‘Ice Popp’ below:
Speaking to the Metro, Rastamouse talked about the recording process for the album, saying: "We had a blast layin’ dem riddims down. Scratchy's really vibin' on da bass an' Zoomer's rockin' out on dem bongo's."
The series received a number of complaints when it was originally broadcast by the BBC, with parents accusing the show of pandering to stereotypes and confusing children by teaching them a “bastardised version” of English.
However presenter Reggie Yates, who performs as the voice for the musical rodent, claims that he believes the show is “a small step towards making the entire UK much more multicultural”.
