The Wanted unveiled their upcoming single ‘Glad You Came’ on UK radio yesterday (May 24th). The lively track precedes their as-of-yet untitled second LP, which the band have been recording for the majority of 2011.
‘Glad You Came’ was played for the first time on BBC Radio 1 yesterday, receiving a generally positive response from the band’s legions of teenage fans. The track is co-written and produced by Steve Mac, Wayne Hector and Ed Drewett, who were also responsible for the band’s chart-topping debut 'All Time Low' last year.
Speaking about the track, singer Tom Parker said: "When we first heard 'Glad You Came' we just knew it had to be the first single from the new album. We all felt it was a new, refreshing sound and a perfect song for the summer which really gets you in the mood for a party."
The Wanted have described the music video for ‘Glad You Came’ as “hot”. It was recorded in Ibiza earlier this month. Fittingly to the dancefloor tone of the track, a remix by Italian house DJ Alex Gaudino will feature on the official single. 'Glad You Came' will be released on July 10th.
