Lupe Fiasco: “The Biggest Terrorist Is Obama”

Thursday, 09 June 2011 Written by James Conlon

Lupe Fiasco has branded US president Barack Obama “a terrorist” during an interview with an American news channel. Speaking with CBS News, the Chicago-born rapper criticised Obama, claiming that the country’s stance towards terrorism is in fact “the root cause of terrorism” itself.

Speaking to CBS, Fiasco said: "In my fight against terrorism, to me, the biggest terrorist is Obama, and the United States of America. I'm trying to fight the terrorism that's actually causing the other forms of terrorism."

He continued: "You know, the root cause of terrorism is the stuff that the US government allows to happen, and the foreign policies that we have in place in different countries that inspire people to become terrorists. And it's easy for us because it's just some oil."

Meanwhile the rapper, who released his third studio album ‘Lazers’ in March this year, saw a dramatic sales increase after appearing at the MTV Movie Awards earlier this week. The ‘Superstar’ rapper performed alongside Foo Fighters at the annual ceremony, which saw ‘Twilight: Eclipse’ pick up the coveted ‘Best Film’ award.
