Bon Iver Stream New Album Online – Listen Now

Thursday, 09 June 2011 Written by James Conlon

Bon Iver have decided to stream their upcoming sophomore album online, over a week before it is due to be officially released. The ten track album isn’t available for purchase until June 20th, however Justin Vernon and co. have decided to make it available for fans to listen to from today (June 9th).

The album leaked on file sharing sites a fortnight ago, a move which many attributed to an error made by iTunes as they accidentally made the full album available when releasing the lead single from the LP, ‘Calgary’.

The self-titled sophomore album from Wisconsin songwriter Justin Vernon and his band has received generally positive reviews from critics so far, with Stereoboard’s own Rhys Morgan awarding the record 9/10.

Speaking about the album, Rhys said: “...you are going to be hitting repeat. A lot. There’s so much lurking in the shadows. From the lacings of violin trough out, through the electric synthetics of ‘Hinnom, TX’ and on to the building bliss of ‘Calgary’, you are going to treat your ears to this multiple times.”

Bon Iver are set to embark on a six-date UK tour in October. The band will begin at Manchester’s O2 Apollo on October 19th, ending the jaunt in Bristol on November 11th.
