Glee Cast Set To Depart After Next Season

‘Glee’ creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed that the current cast of the show will leave after their characters graduate from high school at the end of next season. In an interview with Ryan Seacrest, Murphy revealed that the majority of the current cast will be replaced by new actors when next season of the hit US show draws to a close.

The shift in cast will mean that the likes of Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, Dianna Agron, Mark Salling, Amber Riley and Cory Monteith will all be leaving the show after next season.

Speaking to Seacrest. Murphy said: "We didn’t want to have a show where they were in high school for eight years. We really wanted it to be true to that experience. We thought it would be really cool if we were true to the timeline."

Fans distraught over the upcoming departure of the show’s key characters can find solice in the fact that the show’s main adult cast will all retain their roles at the end of next season. According to Murphy, the likes of Matthew Morrison’s Will Schuester and Jane Lynch's comedic role as Sue Sylvester will all remain on the US singing show.
