Folk rockers The Low Anthem have announced a UK tour to go ahead through August, following their fourth studio album release last February.
The American three-piece will play a range of shows including intimate shows and festival performances, giving them a total of seven UK dates confirmed for the remainder of 2011. It will also be some of the band’s first performances without multi-instrumentalist Mat Davidson, who left the band just five days ago after a performance in Quebec.
The band’s album ‘Smart Flesh’ came out on the 22nd of February earlier this year and, along with 2008’s ‘Oh My God, Charlie Darwin’, helped push the band to prominence and recognition after they self-released their first two album efforts. ‘Smart Flesh’ was recorded in a disused pasta sauce factory and managed to feature in the Billboard 200 at #198, the first of the band’s album to chart.
The Low Anthem UK tour dates are as follows:
August 14th - Oxford Wilderness Festival
August 16th - Gateshead Town Hall
August 17th - Birmingham Hare And Hounds
August 18th - Norwich Arts Centre
August 19th - Devon Beautiful Days Festival
August 21st - Green Man Festival
November 16th - London Roundhouse
