'Bottom' Writer Adrian Edmondson To Tour With Folk-Punk Band

Comedian Adrian Edmondson will be touring the UK this September, with his folk-punk band The Bad Shepherds.

The Young Ones and Bottom writer formed a band with pipe-player Troy Donockley and violinist Andy Dinan in 2008, to perform classic punk songs on classic instruments. The band have two albums together, full of folk-influenced reworks of great songs and medleys of tracks like the Ramons Medley on their last LP.

It’s not often you get to hear iconic punk songs like ‘Anarchy in the UK’ and ‘God Save the Queen’, as well as rock classics like ‘White Riot’ and ‘I Fought the Law’, all played on folk instruments like mandolins, citterns and fiddles – so make sure you get yourself to one of Edmondson’s gigs. They promise to be funny, but also surprisingly good – you’ll never hear Motorhead’s Ace of Spades in the same light again after hearing the folk version. Tickets and dates are below.
