Sir Paul McCartney Claims His Phone Was Hacked

Sir Paul McCartney has claimed that he was a victim of phone hacking. The singer and former Beatle recently told American journalists that he intends to discuss the matter with British journalists when he returns to the UK.

The statement has been made following on from allegations made by McCarney’s ex-wife Heather Mills, who has claimed that a journalist from the Mirror Group admitted to hacking into her voicemail to listen to messages left by McCartney during their divorce proceedings. The pair famously divorced in 2008, with Mills taking millions from the singer in the eventual settlement.

Speaking to US journalists about the claims, McCartney said: "When I go back [to Britain] after this tour, I am going to talk to the police because apparently I have been hacked. I don't know much about it because they won't tell anyone except the person themselves. So I will be talking to them about that.”

He continued: "I do think it's horrendous violation of privacy. I do think it has been going on for a long time and I do think more people than we know about it. But I think I should just listen and hear what the facts are before I comment."

The Mirror Group have responded to the allegations, declaring that all of their journalists work within the British law.
