A-ha Reform to Perform at Oslo Attack Tribute Concert

Norwegian pop trio A-ha have announced that they will reunite to play a tribute concert for those killed and injured in the recent Oslo and Utoeya attacks, which saw 77 people die.

The shooting and bombing, which occurred on the 22st of July, took place in the group’s native country - prompting them to get involved in the tribute event which takes place on August 21st, the set date for the mourning of the attacks.

A-ha released a statement telling of their reunion on their website, which read: “On 22 July, we, like everyone else in Norway and the rest of the world, were shaken to the soul by these actions of cruelty and violent provocation against everything we stand for.

“We are grateful to be asked to participate in the memorial ceremony. We do this to honour those who have been torn away, to show appreciation to everyone who made an effort to help on July 22.”

The event will take place at the Oslo Spectrum later this month, and will also feature other Norwegian acts such as rap group Karpe Diem and singer Bjørn Eidsvåg. Families of the victims of the attacks will be invited to watch the tribute show, alongside important figures such as governors, parliament members and royal family.
