ADELA Announces Debut Album 'PRIMA' With New Single Ain't In LA

ADÉLA has released the single Ain't In LA.
Alongside the bass-heavy earworm pop track, the Bratislava-born artist has announced her debut album, 'PRIMA', due for release on September 4 via Polydor Records. It will include her previously shared songs KGB and Red Bottoms.
Introducing Ain't In LA, which was inspired by a visit home and seeing photos of her mother at 18 years old posing in front of a wall filled with pop culture posters, she said:
“My grandfather smuggled the posters in from Germany. It made me think, ‘There are so many beautiful girls with dreams who will never get their flowers like my mom’. I wrote this for her and the billion other bitches who are probably cooler than me.”
Discussing the record, she commented: “I want this album to sound exactly like a 22-year-old girl. I tried to express both sides. I mixed the hard with the soft, the vulnerable with the swag of it all, the muscular beats with the feminine energy. I did exactly what I wanted to.”
“PRIMA means ‘first’, which is perfect since this is my debut," she explained. "Being a prima ballerina means you’re the top dog or the best ballerina in the house. It’s a term of endearment in the ballerina community. I’m trying to be the prima ballerina of pop, and this is my first step to achieve that.”
ADÉLA will soon hit the road for The Red Bottoms Tour, which will head to London on August 25, then travel across North America between September 9 and October 9, before two shows in Mexico City on October 15 and 15. Tickets are on sale now.
Prior to the tour, she will appear at Chicago's Lollapalooza festival, which this year is headlined by Lorde, John Summit, Charli XCX, The Smashing Pumpkins, Olivia Dean, Jennie, Tate McRae and The xx.
