Johnny Daukes Announces New Solo Album ‘A False Parade’

Johnny Daukes, the former frontman of Fin and All Our Good Friends, has announced details of his new solo album ‘A False Parade’, which is due for release on 7th November. See below to watch a sampler of the new album.
Speaking about ‘A False Parade’, Daukes said: “I didn’t really set out with any specific aims and objectives with these songs. You walk about and scraps of tunes and lyrics present themselves. It’s only later you realise what half of them are actually about.”
Johnny Daukes formed port of the English alternative rock band Fin during the mid-90s and the group released their first and only album ‘Positive’ in 1995. Daukes returned to music later on with a new band called All Our Good Friends, who released their own album ‘Promise’ in 2008.
In addition to his solo work, Daukes recently wrote and directed his first film called ‘Acts of Godfrey’, which stars Simon Callow, Harry Enfield and Celia Imrie. The film has been nominated for this year’s Raindance Film Festival and will be premiered on 30th September. It is due for general release early next year.
“I write music and film concurrently,” says Johnny. “Whilst I’m writing, I’ll break off and pick up a guitar and there’s little delineation in my mind or workspace between either area. If one thought process is getting stuck then I can move to the other and maintain some kind of creative momentum.”
