Johnny Marr has revealed that he’ll finally be returning to his early 2000’s band The Healers for a duo of gigs in Manchester next month.
The well travelled and experienced musician has been a member of dozens of bands in his time, including the iconic Smiths and American indie rockers Modest Mouse. Having just left his latest group The Cribs, Marr will rock out Manchester’s Deaf Institute on October 4th and 6th.
He made the announcement through his personal website, also telling fans that ticket details would be released soon.
Marr formed The Healers in 2003 alongside other famous musicians including Alonza Bevan, who played bass for Kula Shaker, Zak Starkey, who’s played drums for Oasis on multiple occasions, and guitarist Lee Spencer. The band kicked off their career with their debut album ‘Boomslang’, but, following a tour and a couple of extra live dates, Marr decided it was best to put The Healers to the side for a couple of years. Whether a second album is in the works is unknown, but the band did plan to release a second album in 2005 before they went on hiatus.
Tickets for the two Healers dates will be on sale soon – check below for dates and details.
