Ben Howard releases his new single ‘The Fear’ on the 5th December, taken from his recently released Top 10 debut album, ‘Every Kingdom’.
It has been a massive year so far for the Devonshire singer-songwriter Ben Howard. He released his EP, ‘Old Pine’ back in the spring and six months later has been celebrating his debut album entering the UK album charts at Number Seven.
Compared to the likes of John Martyn, Donovan, and Bon Iver, 'Every Kingdom' (which is produced by the band’s bassist and drummer Chris Bond), captures the rawness and intimacy of Ben’s live performance. The singles that followed the 'Old Pine' EP release were met with widespread acclaim and fantastic support from the nation’s radio stations too. Both 'The Wolves' and 'Keep Your Head Up' were playlisted, and Ben’s fanbase began to grow to each and every corner of the UK and beyond. This third single, 'The Fear', is another sumptuous example of just how alluring both Ben’s natural vocal and guitar-picking technique combine to dramatic effect.
Currently out across the UK and Ireland on a sold-out UK tour, Ben heads out for another series of shows in Europe in November before returning to cap 2011 with a handful of further UK dates in December and February 2012. These include a headline show at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire.
