Orbital, legendary grandmasters of electronica, have announced a new initial set of shows for April 2012.
After reforming in 2009, Orbital are back in demand in 2011 with a whole run of exciting new shows. Capable of both rib-shaking, energetic techno and incredible layered ambient soundscapes, and blessed with a godlike genius when it comes to their DJ sets, Orbital have succeeded Kraftwerk as the kings of techno and electronica.
One of the biggest names in British electronica during the 1990s, Orbital were both critically and commercially successful, and known particularly for their element of live improvisation during shows.
Earlier this year, 16th February 2011, Orbital posted a video diary on YouTube reporting their progress on the recording of a brand new album, along with remixes of existing material for their DJ sets. Subsequent diary updates have been published.
April 5th – Manchester Academy
April 6th – Leeds Academy
April 7th – Glasgow ABC
April 8th – Liverpool Academy
April 9th – Cambridge Corn Exchange
April 10th – London Royal Albert Hall
In addition to their new dates, Orbital are giving away a track off the new forthcoming album. The track is entitled 'Never' and is a typical Orbital trademarked tune. It’s free to download from www.orbitalofficial.com from today, October 25th 2011.
