London duo Matt Poile and Alex Morris, aka Crushed Beaks, have continued the build up to their debut single release by releasing a brand new video for lead track ‘Close-Ups’.
Close-Ups’, alongside the recently aired ‘Sun Dogs’, will be available on 7” vinyl and download from November 21st through Too Pure.
Taking in the band’s shared love of kitsch horror films, the video for ‘Close-Ups’ is a brilliant juxtaposition against the song’s bittersweet melodies. As if being forced through a broken vintage projector, both Poile and Morris seem to be convulsing and morphing into different beasts throughout. Eyes twist and mouths foam as the song nears its effervescent climax.
With the pair already building a reputation as one of the ones to watch on the London live scene, getting described as ‘irresponsibly loud’ by Abbey Road Studios, where their single was mastered, ‘Close-Ups’ proves another statement of intent from the young duo.
The band will be celebrating the forthcoming release of the single with a release party at the Old Blue Last in London this Friday, November 11th. Check the video out below.
