Coming off the heels of their appearance in the Bohemia tent at Sonisphere Knebworth 2011, Scottish pirate metallers Alestorm have announced a UK wide tour to take place in February 2012.
Formed in 2006, Alestorm hail from Perth, Scotland, and describe their sound as "true Scottish pirate metal". Playing an infectious blend of folk and power metal, in a similar vein of bands such as Korpiklaani and Turisas, Alestorm's music is characterised by a theme. You've guessed it, a pirate theme.
Alestorm released their studio album, 'Back Through Time' earlier this year in June. The band have confirmed an extensive UK tour to promote the new record in February 2012.
"Greetings dudes! In February 2012 we'll be hitting the road for our biggest headlining UK tour EVER, including our first ever shows in Ireland! Along with us will be our Australian buddies Claim The Throne, who are really good at getting drunk. Get your arses down to the show, or we'll kick your ass. I know where you live."
