Returning after a four year absence with a new studio album in 2012, British rock legend Barry Adamson has released free track 'Destination' as a preview for his latest work. The Manchester born musician and composer is best known for his work with the bands Magazine and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds but has produced numerous notable solo records over the years; none more so than 1988’s concept record 'Moss Side Story'.
'Destination' is an up-tempo rocker that has more than enough to keep devotees of the rough and ready rock riff happy. An undeniably catchy effort, it prompts to potentially great things from the release of the album 'I Will Set You Free' this coming January.
With Adamson providing characteristically great vocals alongside soaring instrumentation, it seems that one of Manchester’s finest sons will once again be returning with a superb effort in the New Year. The influence of the recent Magazine reformation he took part in seems to have had an effect, with this album seeing Adamson return to his rock roots alongside his continuing work in the world of soundtracks.
As well as releasing his new album, Adamson will be playing a special show at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall on the 9th February 2012.
'Destination' is available for download from www.barryadamson.com.
