Leicester’s Summer Sundae Weekender have released a limited number of early bird tickets for next year’s festival at last year’s prices. Dates for the 2012 event were recently confirmed as Friday 17th to Sunday 19th August – a week later than normal due to next summer’s London Olympic Games.

Summer Sundae Weekender, which is located at De Montfort Hall and Gardens in Leicester, has taken place every year since 2001 and has since grown to feature over 100 acts across six stages, attracting more than 6000 people.

Summer Sundae Weekender 2011 saw performances by the likes of Graham Coxon, The Maccabees, McFly, Example, Everything Everything and Toots and the Maytals. For the first time in the festival’s 10-year history, the 2011 event featured a fourth night of music and entertainment at a nearby venue. The Thursday night at Leicester O2 Academy kick-started the Summer Sundae Weekender with an evening of DJ sets and live music from the likes of Fenech-Soler. See below to watch a film about this year’s festival from Roundabout Productions.
