American 90’s rockers Pearl Jam have been confirmed as the final headline act for 2012’s Isle of Wight Festival, completing festival chief John Giddings’ hopes of an all-American trio of headliners.
Pearl Jam, a Washington-based five piece formed in the 90’s, are considered the ‘most popular American rock & roll band of the '90s’ by Allmusic and will rock out the festival’s stage on Saturday night, following on from Biffy Clyro and Madness, who also perform on Saturday.
Also headlining the event is Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, and singer-songwriter Tom Pretty with his band The Heartbreakers. Also on the bill is ex-Oasis star Noel Gallagher and the High Flying Birds, 90’s rockers Elbow, rapping songwriter Example, indie band The Vaccines and folk group Noah and the Whale.
