Sam Smith Previews 'Hazel Eyes' With New Single When He's Gone

Sam Smith has released another single from their upcoming album.
Following last month's Oh Mother featuring The TwoCity Chorus, and earlier tracks My Guy, Love Is A Stillness and To Be Free, When He's Gone pairs bluesy finger-picked acoustic guitar with souldful vocals, offering a further glimpse into 'Hazel Eyes', due out on August 21 via Capitol Records. Smith said:
"This album explores every shade of a relationship and ‘When He’s Gone’ is more of a melancholy shade. We captured it live without a click track, and built everything around that original recording to preserve the feeling of a storm rumbling in the distance."
Smith will celebrate the follow-up to 2023's 'GLORIA' with To Be Free residencies in Manchester and London next month, following a Guadalajara show on August 14 and four performances for their To Be Free: Mexico City residency at the Auditorio Nacional on August 17, 18, 20 and 21. Tickets are on sale now.
