Sam Smith Shares New Single Oh Mother Featuring The TwoCity Chorus

Sami Smith has released a new single.
Oh Mother featuring The TwoCity Chorus, a 28-member vocal collective, is a powerful gospel and soul-inspired exploration of maternal love. It's the latest preview of the Grammy, BRIT, Golden Globe and Oscar-winning vocalist's new album, 'Hazel Eyes', following My Guy, Love Is A Stillness and To Be Free. Smith said:
“The choir is meant to represent the fury of a mother witnessing her child’s betrayal — they’re summoning a sort of divine feminine energy. We also have vocals from my friend Dante, who was a mothering presence to me as a queer person in my 20s. It’s like a gathering of voices offering strength.”
The follow-up to 2023's 'GLORIA' is due for release on August 21 through Capital Records. Smith will celebrate the release with To Be Free residencies in Manchester and London this September, following a Guadalajara show on August 14 and four performances for their To Be Free: Mexico City residency at the Auditorio Nacional on August 17, 18, 20 and 21. Tickets are on sale now.
