Beach Boys To Reunite At Grammys?

There was a lot attention surrounding a veteran Californian rock band who were on the verge of a reunion at this year’s Grammy Awards – but it wasn’t Van Halen who were turning heads.

The ‘Jump’ singers were, according to fierce rumours, due to make a special announcement at the Grammy award nominations concert on November 30th, but were nowhere to be seen, leaving fans almost fed-up at the wait for a potential new album or tour.

So, step in the Beach Boys to announce that they will be making a special announcement at the Grammy award ceremony on February 12th, telling the Rolling Stones that they ‘don’t know’ why there wasn’t an announcement at the nominations ceremony that they’ll be appearing at the full award show.

““I thought the Grammys might make the announcement,” said Beach Boys guitarist Al Jardine. “I don’t know what happened. There will be a surprise at the Grammys. We’ll do something really exciting. It’s going to be a very big operation.”

We’re sure Beach Boys fans’ hearts are racing at the idea of their favourites coming back together one more time, though full details of what they’ll reveal at the ceremony haven’t yet surfaced. But, an revelation made earlier this year by founding member Mike Love revealed that the band had settled their differences and had a session at Capitol Records.

“We had a session at Capitol Records. Brian was conducting the session. At the end of the session Brian said, ‘I can’t believe a 70-year-old guy can sing that great!’ It was cool. There’s a lot of talk and conjecture both internally and externally. All I can say at the moment is I think it would be great to work with Brian and see what can come of it.”
