Friday, 16 December 2011 Written by Rob Sleigh

Singer-songwriter Nerina Pallot has announced the release of the third single from her latest album ‘Year of the Wolf’. ‘All Bets Are Off’, which is due out on 30th January, is written by Nerina and produced by Bernard Butler. A live version of the single can be watched below.

‘Year of the Wolf’, which was released in June this year, is Nerina’s fourth album to date and follows 2009’s ‘The Graduate’. In addition to her own work, Nerina is an established songwriter, having written songs for artists such as Kylie Minogue and Diana Vickers. She wrote a couple of songs for Kylie’s 2010 album ‘Aphrodite’, including the title track.

Speaking about her new single, Nerina said: “‘All Bets Are Off’ is about the beginning of the end of a love affair, when you know it’s over but you keep hoping for a miracle that never arrives.”

Nerina recently recorded three songs at Abbey Road for Jo Whiley’s In Concert on Radio 2 to commemorate 80 years of the iconic studios. As well as singing her own songs ‘All Bets Are Off’ and ‘Grace’, Nerina performed an incredible cover of Radiohead’s ‘High and Dry.’

She is currently working as a guest mentor on German talent show ‘The Voice’. Speaking about her new role, Nerina said: “Unlike other music competitions on TV, the focus is actually on the quality of the singer’s voice as opposed to bad karaoke. The standard of singing is exceptional and, as a result, I am finding it inspiring and humbling to work with so many talented singers. My German could still do with some improvement, mind.”
