Lemon Jelly’s Frank Eddie Releases New Video – Watch Now

Monday, 09 January 2012 Written by Rob Sleigh

Frank Eddie, one-half of the Mercury-nominated electronic music duo Lemon Jelly, has released a video for his new single ‘(Let Me Be) The One You Call On’. The single is due out on 23rd January and is the second in a series of vinyl-only releases from his own Impotent Fury label.

The video to ‘(Let Me Be) The One You Call On’, which you can watch below, was broadcast exclusively by Channel 4 on 13th December 2011 as part of their Random Acts short films strand. Frank Eddie – an anagram of the artist’s real name Fred Deakin – is one of the founders of the London-based production company Airside, who created the video. Airside recently announced that they would be closing in March after 14 years in business.

Deakin is also a member of the electronic music duo Lemon Jelly, who have been on hiatus since 2008. Lemon Jelly are probably remembered best for their 2002 album ‘Lost Horizons’, which was nominated for the 2003 Mercury Prize and earned the duo a Brit Award nomination for Best Dance Act. The album also included the Top 20 single ‘Nice Weather for Ducks’. Lemon Jelly’s most recent album, 2005’s ’64-95’, featured a vocal performance by William Shatner, which followed the duo’s appearance on his 2004 album ‘Has Been’.
