Flight of the Conchords’ Rhys Darby Announces New London Dates

New Zealand-based stand-up comedian Rhys Darby has announced details of two dates at London’s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, the first to be confirmed for his first-ever UK tour. Darby is probably known best as one of the main characters in the Emmy-nominated comedy series ‘Flight of the Conchords’, in which he plays the band’s incompetent but enthusiastic manager Murray Hewitt.

Rhys Darby has also appeared in the films ‘Yes Man’ and ‘The Boat That Rocked’. His live comedy DVD ‘Imagine That!’ was released in 2008 and has since gone Platinum in New Zealand – watch a clip below. A second DVD ‘It’s Rhys Darby Night!’ is due for release later this year, as is his first novel ‘This Way to Spaceship’.

Speaking about the upcoming UK tour via Awesomeness Comedy, Darby said: “Hello UK! Yep, you heard correctly, I will be jetting my way back to do my first ever UK tour. Tickets to the Shepherds Bush Empire dates go on sale this Friday January 13 for July 20 and 21. Stay tuned for the announcement of which cities I will be visiting. Will it be yours? How exciting! The show will be called ‘This Way to Spaceship’, and it is the handy live accompaniment to my new book.”
