Fleet Foxes Side Project Poor Moon Release New Song - Listen Now

Fleet Foxes’ Christian Wargo and Casey Wescott have teamed up with brothers Ian and Peter Murray of The Christmas Cards to form a new supergroup called Poor Moon. The quartet have announced the release of their debut EP ‘Illusion’, which is due out in early spring. The first track to be taken from the EP ‘People In Her Mind’ is available to listen to below.

The ‘Illusion’ EP was recorded at AVAST! and Fastback studios in Seattle, Washington with engineer Jared Hankins as well as a number of other guest musicians. The official release date will be announced in due course.

Poor Moon, who are named after frontman and primary songwriter Christian Wargo’s favourite Canned Heat song, were originally formed as a long-distance side project while Wargo and Wescott were on tour with Fleet Foxes following the release of the band’s 2008 debut. They started out by sending demos back and forth between the four members until they were eventually able to join forces to perform live.

Poor Moon’s as-yet-untitled debut album is due for release later this year. The band also recently announced that they are to tour the US throughout March and April, and are currently planning some UK dates for later in the year.
